Let's Not Be Part of the Problem

With the presidential election coming up, I know posts on Facebook regarding both candidates will increase. I have a very simple bi-partisan plea: Let's try to only post things that are true and can be confirmed with official sources (and no, your grumpy grandpa who still uses the word "negro" isn't a trustworthy source).

This isn't as difficult as it might seem. Before you share an image that validates your hatred of a specific candidate, do one of the following things:

  • Visit There are very few viral photos/letters/stories that haven't been researched by the site and declared "True" or "False." Spoiler alert: Most are false or, in the very least, misleading.

  • Simply Google the claim. Cut and paste the phrase claiming the candidate is an atheist, muslim, fascist, cross-dressing, no-job-havin', Ayn Rand worshipping, chicken-eating, chicken-hating, chicken-what/chicken-butt-spouting bigot/hater/psycho/communist/flagburner/no-flag-pin-wearing loser. Read more than one source.

I think we could really improve life if we all agree to do this and if we focus on the issues that truly matter to each of us.

I'm Amy Bickers and I approve this message.
